They’ve been delaying orders until they got the shipping method worked out (first orders were showing up banged up in boxes). They now come in a big box, with a smaller box surrounded by packing air bags, with reinforced walls in the smaller box. My first one just showed up and is perfect. Word is that these are going to be extremely limited (they come with individually numbered plaques).

If you’re planning on picking one up, I’d do it now before they are sold out and the only way to buy one is for $1k+ on ebay. I learned my lesson on the original UCS Millennium Falcon which you can’t find now for less than $4k.

Mine shipped today. I wouldn’t count on them staying in stock for very long, or there being many more production runs.

I’m in the process of building the first one I got. Going to sit on/display the box for a second one. By far the most intricate Lego Technic I’ve ever build. The mechanism for the gearbox is crazy. The way the paddle shifters actually work. I ordered a second after I started building and felt this was a seminal point in Lego history that I’ll probably want to keep a NIB version of, if I don’t flip it I’ll probably save it as a gift to a future child.

The kid in me wants this so badly, but the adult says I should be spending a few hundred on a lego kit. After the 13% tax we have it'll come out just shy of 400 CAD.
